A Queen Masters story: Haritomeni Markantonaki turns underdog role into silver and a WIM norm
Greece’s Haritomeni Markantonaki arrived at Chess Slovak Open® 2026 as the ninth seed of the ten-player Queen Masters. After an opening loss to the eventual champion she never faltered again: she beat both grandmasters in the field and took silver, a WIM norm and 36 rating points.
