
Chess Slovak Open® 2026 introduces another player of the closed women’s Queen Masters tournament. Croatian international WFM Tihana Ivekovič is heading to Skalica.
A fixture of the Croatian national team
Tihana Ivekovič has long been among Croatia’s top ten women players. She has represented her country at four Chess Olympiads (2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024), most recently in Budapest. She holds the Woman FIDE Master (WFM) title and her current rating is 2126.
From junior titles to coaching
As a young player she won three Croatian Girls’ Championships. Today she is also active as a chess coach, passing her experience on to the next generation.
Queen Masters 2026 in Skalica
The Queen Masters 2026 is a closed, invitational women’s round-robin within the Chess Slovak Open® 2026 festival, categorised for WIM norms. The festival takes place 22–30 August 2026 at the House of Culture in Skalica.
